Cloudflare CTO Dane Knecht Makes TIME's 2026 Executives of the Year List

Dane Knecht, Cloudflare's CTO since March 2025, made TIME's 2026 Executives of the Year (Tech and Data) list for rebuilding the company around an internet shared by machines and humans. By June 2026, 52% of crawler requests Cloudflare saw were for AI training, up from 22% in spring 2025. He pushed Agent Cloud, a standard for running and securing agents across model providers, plus pay-per-crawl and Monetization Gateway so publishers can charge AI systems for access.
