QwenBook vs Googlebook: AI-native PCs start rebuilding the OS around agents

At the Snapdragon Summit, Alibaba's Qwen unveiled QwenBook, an AI PC due around year-end, while the first Googlebooks ship October 4 at $899–$1,299 from Dell, Lenovo, HP, Acer and Asus — both pitched as "AI-native computers."
Googlebook: GooglebookOS builds on the Android stack plus ChromeOS desktop features, letting Android apps run natively; Gemini reads on-screen content and continues tasks across phone and PC, with a dedicated "G" key and an AI-status Glowbar.
QwenBook: a 2-in-1 with a secondary rear display, running a local 4B model offline and offloading to cloud Qwen3.8-Max/Flash. Qwen frames it as "OS as Harness": the OS is the agent's interface, stores project/task state, exposes apps and hardware via OS CLI, and agents run in a background environment that survives sleep. Partners include WPS, Alipay AI Pay and UGREEN NAS.
Google prioritizes phone-PC continuity; Qwen's OS-as-agent-runtime is more ambitious but unproven, and no settled product standard for AI PCs exists yet.
