Disclosed AI use in arXiv math papers jumped from 1.4% to 14% in under 6 months

A scan of 32,944 math arXiv papers (March 1–August 20, 2026) found disclosed AI use rose from 1.39% to 14.09% in under six months. Proof construction was the largest category (1,225 papers); Combinatorics had the most AI-assisted papers overall, while Metric Geometry had the highest per-field share.
