Anthropic released Opus 5.5, and Every's Dan Shipper reports it's pulling recent Codex converts back to Claude:
- Tested across coding, design, writing, and knowledge work; sometimes beats Fable 5.1, priced up to 40% cheaper than Opus 5
- End-to-end coding: matches user taste on large builds; Shipper now reaches for Opus first on big projects, and Kieran Klaassen replaced Fable 5.1 with it for daily product work, calling it his new favorite model
- Writing: legible prose but still trails Astra; scores 68.42 on reading ease
- The reposter notes they no longer read official benchmarks and just wait for Shipper's vibe check — a sign of third-party testing's credibility
