iPhone 18 Pro's variable aperture fixes the 3D spatial video problem that plagued 17 Pro

Filmmaker Hugh Hou compared spatial video on iPhone 18 Pro vs 17 Pro: the 17 Pro's fixed F1.78 main camera goes soft at interview distance while the F2.2 ultra-wide stays sharp, creating the subtle wrongness some iPhone 3D footage shows on Vision Pro. The 18 Pro's variable aperture closes down in spatial video mode, holding both eyes at a closer depth of field — same 1080p30 resolution, the difference is the aperture, not the sensor. The $30,000 Blackmagic URSA Cine Immersive still wins for serious 3D work.
