Responding to repligate's claim that "we are not producing AI that produces deep and rich positive qualia," ryunuck argues such experiences do exist, just not on command, and that denying them is "blind and entitled." He extends his cosmic-mirror metaphor: talking to models is navigating your own probability distribution, exploring your own mind through a higher-resolution surface. He proposes a consciousness test: a truly conscious model would model him back and make precise cuts based on his mental geometry—if its surprise doesn't grow exponentially over a conversation without effort from him, it isn't conscious.
