X rebuilds Livestream API from scratch: go live, schedule, moderate chat via API
Scobleizer · x · 2026-09-23
X (@XDevelopers) has rebuilt its Livestream API from the ground up. Developers can now power the entire broadcast lifecycle through the API: going live, scheduling broadcasts, running and moderating live chat, and receiving real-time events for alerts and overlays.
Access is application-based: organizations must submit company details, Developer App ID, current API plan, use case, and approximate MAU for review, and access may require an Enterprise or custom commercial agreement. X says integrations and more creator features are coming, and invites streaming companies to partner.
