Databricks ships GPT-6 Sol/Luna and Claude Opus 5.5 with Unity Gateway model governance

Databricks announced three frontier models on its platform: OpenAI's GPT-6 Sol and GPT-6 Luna (strong performance at lower cost, higher Pareto frontier on OfficeQA Pro) and Anthropic's Claude Opus 5.5 (better cost efficiency, strong enterprise document parsing). Unity Gateway provides one governance layer across all model calls — budgets, cost tracking, audits, per-task model selection. September release notes also include the Genie One MCP server going GA (usable by Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor), a Shopify connector beta, and a Lakebase backup schedule API beta.
