Google Adds Ask Gemini to Chat as a Unified Command Line for Workspace

Google is rolling out Ask Gemini in Google Chat starting August 26, 2026, positioning it as a unified command line for work. It can search across Gmail/Drive/Calendar, generate images and draft updates in-conversation, catch up on discussions, manage meetings and tasks, and organize work into sessions. DeepMind's Zoubin Ghahramani says he uses the Workspace integrations all the time.
