Figure CEO: Humanoid Robotics Needs Four Stages and Eventually Hundreds of Billions
adcock_brett · x · 2026-09-23
Figure CEO Brett Adcock outlines a four-stage maturity framework for humanoid robots: (1) great hardware, (2) whole-body AI-first architecture — neither can be brute-forced with capital; (3) scaling intelligence, where data and compute become the bottleneck and humanoids will ultimately require far more of both than LLMs; (4) scaling manufacturing and economic integration. The last two stages can be accelerated with capital but will require tens and eventually hundreds of billions of dollars.
