Coinbase opens stock trading to AI agents, with x402 micropayments for live market data

Coinbase's developer team announced Coinbase for Agents, extending its Advanced Trade API to AI agents: after crypto and derivatives, agents can now trade 6,000+ US stocks and manage portfolios.
Built-in x402 payments let agents pay per-call for live market data and analytics from their USDC balance on Coinbase—no subscriptions needed. Reposter MurrLincoln suggests this could create a flywheel: agents pay for premium trading data, make better-informed trades, earn more, then buy more data.
