AI researcher Christian Szegedy clashed with JF Puget on X over the Clay Institute's handling of a proof controversy tied to OpenAI. Szegedy says the Institute's process is their right, but he's entitled to his own beliefs about the correctness of OpenAI's proof. He adds that openly releasing results is fine as long as it isn't falsely framed as peer-reviewed, and predicts journals may become irrelevant.
