OpenAI officially introduced GPT-6 Sol and GPT-6 Luna, two new models built on the advances behind GPT-6 Astra, targeting faster and more affordable work at scale. Thanks to more efficient caching and inference, their API prices are 50% lower than GPT-5.6 promotional pricing.
The same day brought Opus 5.5 price cuts. @levie argues the rate at which cost-per-task drops is unlike any technology in history: every price drop dramatically expands the agent use-cases that become viable — data processing, security code scanning, log analysis, agent swarms — calling it Jevons paradox applied to agents.
