Developer anonrig opened Node.js PR #66186, crediting Grok 4.7, which compresses embedded ICU data, builtin sources and the V8 snapshot: the arm64 macOS Release binary drops from 140 MB to 91 MB. One-byte builtin sources shrink from 10.5 MB to 2.1 MB, snapshot + code caches from 6.6 MB to 1.5 MB, and the LINKEDIT segment from 44 MB to 5.7 MB — roughly a 50% size reduction.
