springrod argues organizations shouldn't outsource AI strategy to frontier LLM vendors whose business is selling tokens. Open-weight models now handle more and more tasks, and AI ≠ Gen AI — you don't always need an LLM. LLMs are great, but selection should stay independent of vendor incentives.
