Anthropic launches Opus 5.5: cheaper than 5.0, Fable 5.1 intelligence, higher rate limits

Anthropic released Opus 5.5, built on user feedback: clearer communication, cheaper per token than Opus 5.0, with Fable 5.1-level intelligence, strong token efficiency, and solid performance across all effort levels.
The company also raised the 5-hour rate limits and introduced a "banked reset" for accumulated quota. One user asked whether Fable 5.1 is still worth using for some tasks, cost aside.
