IROS 2026 Hits Pittsburgh: 4,000+ Attendees, Nearly 2,000 Papers

The 2026 IEEE/RSJ International Conference on Intelligent Robots and Systems (IROS) will be held Sept. 27–Oct. 3 at Pittsburgh's David L. Lawrence Convention Center, drawing more than 4,000 participants and nearly 2,000 papers on robotics' toughest challenges. The exhibition floor features 145 organizations, with a robot parade rounding out the program. Carnegie Mellon—a school that has shaped robotics since its beginnings—will showcase its research breadth. CMU SCS dean Martial Hebert said IROS is an opportunity to bring the global robotics community together and highlight research at CMU and across Pittsburgh.
