A French bestseller is making the rounds for smelling strongly of AI. Blogger MonsieurPhi highlighted the telltale LLM patterns line by line, calling it "not even subtle" and lamenting that it fooled literary critics and even won prizes.
The poster adds an observation: French LLM writing patterns look very different from English ones at first glance — as if models have different personalities across languages.
