An engineer recalls his NVIDIA team building a self-parking vision system for Audi 13 years ago — impressive even today given tiny compute, requiring heavy CUDA graph optimization (separable convolutions now foundational to inference engines) and a rearchitected isochronous GPU camera-frame pipeline. Yet it died after the demo, never shipping. That 'cool-demo-never-shipped' graveyard pushed him to join Google to actually ship things.
