Will OpenAI eat Jev's lunch? The single-token classifier hypothesis
JnBrymn · x · 2026-09-22
The author's working assumption: Jev is essentially a conventional LLM fine-tuned so a single token's probability distribution acts as a general classifier. OpenAI already uses single tokens as micro-classifiers for tool calling and message delimiters. If OpenAI folds a Jev-like classifier into the same architecture, models could check their own assumptions mid-reasoning with calibration — internalizing the capability.
