Google AI Overview links now funnel users into AI Mode instead of web pages

Barry Schwartz reports at Search Engine Roundtable that Google is testing anchor links within AI Overviews that, instead of leading to web pages, take users into AI Mode follow-up questions. Spotted by Gagan Ghotra with a demo video, the links appear at the bottom of AI Overviews — another tactic to push users from traditional search results into AI Mode.
