Frontier AI Research Is Shifting from Human Scientists to Autonomous Agent Swarms

The poster cites Karpathy's quip that frontier AI research used to be done by "meat computers" connected via "sound wave interconnect" (humans meeting and talking), and argues the work now belongs to autonomous swarms of AI agents.
He stresses this isn't a joke but the actual direction: reading papers, generating ideas, writing experiments, evaluating results, and iterating — the process humans called "research" — is turning into software.
