Factory Raises $200M at $5B Valuation, 3x Jump in 5 Months, to Own Enterprise R&D Agents

Enterprise AI coding company Factory raised $200M at a $5B valuation on Sept 15 — more than triple its April valuation — with Sequoia, Blackstone, Khosla Ventures and others investing, bringing total funding past $400M.

Founded in 2023 by two Princeton alumni, Factory's Droid agents serve hundreds of thousands of daily developers at Nvidia, Adobe, EY and others, with revenue doubling month-over-month for six months. Factory 2.0 extends agents beyond code generation to testing, code review, security, deployment and ops, selling enterprises on handing over the full R&D pipeline.

Key enterprise features include Factory Router, which cuts model costs by 58% (up to 76% per session) by routing tasks across models, plus self-hosted deployment and FedRAMP compliance. The piece also surveys Chinese rivals — CiyuanWuxian, DeepWisdom's Atoms, Alibaba's Qoder CN and Feishu's CodeM — arguing the next battle is making agents something enterprises can't live without.
