Seedance 2.5 adds Draft mode: 480P previews then 1080P finals, up to 77% cheaper

Volcano Engine launched a Draft mode for the Seedance 2.5 video generation API: creators generate cheap 480P previews to iterate on shots, then produce a 1080P final from the chosen preview's ID. The model reuses the preview's prompt, reference assets, seed, ratio, and duration for a second pass, keeping composition and motion highly consistent while outputting native 1080P quality—better than a super-resolution pipeline, with fewer AI artifacts.
Official numbers: generating a 5-second shot with 4 retries saves 57% cost and nearly doubles speed; at 20-picks-per-keeper the savings reach 77%. Runway, Magnific, and Artlist tested it and reported strong detail and consistency—even small motion flaws in previews get fixed in the 1080P render. Enterprise users enable it via draft=true in the API; consumers can try "Seedance 2.5 (Draft)" in Jimeng.
