DeepSeek reportedly expects Huawei to start delivering chips capable of training its frontier models as early as Q4. Liang Wenfeng apparently told investors the shift to Chinese chips 'has to work.' If it succeeds, US export controls will have bought time while giving China an enormous incentive to eliminate the dependency entirely.
