An internal OpenAI model that reportedly began training on August 28 allegedly solved over 100 long-unsolved math problems in just 24 days, including the Navier–Stokes Millennium Prize problem. The pace surprised even OpenAI's in-house mathematicians.
An independent advisory group including Edward Witten, Timothy Gowers, and Martin Hairer is now evaluating the results and coordinating release. Claims remain unverified pending their assessment.
