Physicist Sabine Hossenfelder (@RBehiel) flatly declares that AI won't discover new physics — the odds are 0% because AI is fundamentally not the kind of thing that can do physics.
In her view, the asymptotic limit of AI is emulating a grad student who can code simulations, a ceiling it already reached a couple of years ago with no progress since. A sharp counterpoint to the recent hype around AI solving Millennium Prize problems.
