A paying ChatGPT Plus user reports a sharp drop in completion reliability on long technical work: the model understands tasks and starts correctly, but frequently stops midway, requiring repeated "please continue" nudges.
Using a conservative definition of a "stall" (task accepted, enough context, but stops before finishing), he counted roughly 1 stall in a week a month ago versus at least 22 across a dozen technical conversations in the past seven days.
His workload spans source analysis, debugging, protocol investigation, binary analysis, large codebases, and multi-stage engineering tasks. He stresses the issue isn't intelligence but reliability, says he's now comparing other providers, and has filed feedback with OpenAI asking whether heavy users see the same regression.
