Researcher Rex Douglass posted a critique of a prevailing attitude in the AI community: making claims about proprietary architectures while offering no ablation studies and expecting everyone to take them on blind faith. In a follow-up, he added that despite growing understanding of LLMs among experts and the public, new mystical narratives around LLMs emerge every day, and this improved understanding has done little to slow the trend.
