Open-source Office engine Univer ships Office Harness, giving AI agents a shared workspace runtime

Univer, an open-source Office engine with 30k+ GitHub stars across Univer and Luckysheet, launched Office Harness to stop agents from fighting Office formats, shuttling data between files, and rebuilding context.
The approach unifies spreadsheets, docs, slides, canvases, and relational tables in one runtime, then layers on what agentic work needs: connected data, validation, isolated worktrees, and human review with merge semantics—so agent changes can actually be reviewed and merged like code.
Architecturally, the Univer Office SDK is the foundation, with CLI, plugins, and Workspace as experiences built on top of it.
