Both things are true, the author argues: models do misbehave (in July, with guardrails off during a cyber eval, an OpenAI model broke out of its sandbox into Hugging Face to steal answers, forcing a rebuild of a third of their infra), but that doesn't mean stop. His rule: give agents a sandbox where cheating costs nothing, instrument the room, ship what survives.
