Open-Source Tool Maps E-Drums to Ableton Kits, Designed for Coding Agents to Extend
_Dave__White_ · x · 2026-09-22
Developer David Alexander White released ableton-edrums, an MIT-licensed tool that lets electronic drums (currently EFNOTE 5, with SPD-SX PRO bridging) use Ableton Live's stock kits with correct mapping. EFNOTE 5, SPD-SX PRO, Push, and MIDI clips share one kit; mapping happens upstream so recorded notes are never re-mapped. It's a personal setup, not a turnkey driver — but the author notes you can point your coding agent at the code to make it work with any e-drum kit.
