jev-model-router Routes Claude Code Tasks Between Models via Function Hooks

A new early-access mod, jev-model-router, brings dynamic model routing to Claude Code using its new function hooks. Before every turn, it checks how mechanical the task is, how much reasoning it needs, and whether it's risky, then routes accordingly.
- Upgrades to a stronger model on weak evidence; only drops to a cheaper model when confident the task is simple
- Every routing decision is logged in your transcript
- If the routing call fails, your request runs untouched
- Works without an API key via a built-in classifier (no confidence score)
Setup: run npx claude-code-templates@latest --mod productivity/jev-model-router, paste into Claude Code, launch with CLAUDECODEENABLEFUNCTIONHOOKS=1, and accept the trust prompt.
