Dev ships Pulseous, a toolbar badge for Claude's status page, built with Claude Code
mackeyadam · reddit · 2026-09-22
- Developer mackeyadam released Pulseous, a browser extension that keeps Claude's status in your toolbar: ✓ when all services are operational, colored marks on degradation/outage/maintenance, and ? if the status page is unreachable.
- Clicking it shows per-service status, open incidents and scheduled maintenance with links to status.claude.com; it refreshes every 5 minutes. It requests zero site permissions, has no accounts, analytics or middle server.
- It was built with Claude Code starting from a single message. Notable gotcha: Safari greys out extension icons on non-permitted sites and paints every badge red regardless of requested color, hence the checkmark/X design.
- Free on Chrome/Firefox/Edge; $1.99 on the Mac App Store for Safari. Not affiliated with Anthropic.
