Responding to claims that chatbot makers aren't serious about curing cancer, cloneofsimo points out that ChatGPT and AlphaFold were already used last year to heavily assist the design of mRNA vaccines targeting canine cancer — back when ChatGPT couldn't solve any hard conjectures. He argues the same tools can massively accelerate vaccine creation for chimps/humans, though safety trials mean a long road to patients. Progress, he says, is clearly underway.
