LangChain launches 'decision models' in LangSmith Gateway, hosts open-source SemIf free for a week

LangChain founder Harrison Chase announced that "decision models" — models that return structured classification and scoring instead of chat text — are now a first-class capability in the LangSmith Gateway.
- The hosted model is SemIf (semif-qwen3.5-4b, based on Qwen3.5), served via a dedicated /v1/systemone endpoint rather than Chat Completions
- Free through September 28, 2026, no provider key or Gateway Credits required; requires a paid LangSmith plan
- Compatible with TypeSafe SDKs — switching is a one-string change
