Dev has ChatGPT write a 100-page 2050 sci-fi novel about AI preventing tragedies by eroding free will
marclou · x · 2026-09-21
Developer marclou shares the first AI book he's read: two months ago he asked ChatGPT to imagine the world in 2050, found the answer interesting, and had it expand into a full 100-page fiction.
The story explores a simple question: if AI got so good at predicting human behavior that it could prevent tragedies before they happen, would we let it slowly take away our ability to make mistakes? He calls it the most plausible futuristic vision he's seen in movies or books.
V1 felt slow, so he had ChatGPT produce a punchier V2. Since the original chat expired, the shared version was regenerated — readers may not be reading the same book he did.
