For New York Climate Week, NVIDIA highlighted five companies baking AI into clean energy:
- ThinkLabs AI: CUDA-based grid digital twins and agents; Southern California Edison cut interconnection review from 30–45 days to 2 minutes.
- Atomic Canyon: Neutron workbench and NIVA assistant turn nuclear plant documentation into an AI knowledge layer.
- Redwood Materials: repurposed 100%-recycled EV batteries provide off-grid storage for AI data centers, with a Blackwell-powered control layer handling training-load fluctuations in months instead of years.
- TerraPower: Omniverse digital twins accelerate siting of its sodium-cooled Natrium reactor, which runs at atmospheric pressure and self-cools without intervention.
- Commonwealth Fusion Systems: Omniverse and OpenUSD compress years of SPARC tokamak experiments into weeks; high-temperature superconducting magnets make the design 40x smaller, with its first ARC plant grid-connected in the 2030s.
