AI product privacy: derived data and behavioral data need protection too
goyalshaliniuk · x · 2026-09-21
A thread snippet from an AI product privacy series covering two overlooked data categories:
- Usage & behavioral data: search history, feature usage, click activity, time spent. Even without names attached, behavioral patterns can reveal sensitive information. Minimize collection and purge unnecessary activity data.
- Generated & derived data: AI summaries, inferred preferences, predictions, segments, risk scores. AI-derived information can be sensitive even when the original data wasn't — treat important AI inferences as data that needs protection.
