imec AI Labs unveiled Yukan, an app that helps healthcare professionals create personalized stories explaining a child's care journey in an engaging, reassuring way—easing the fear of unfamiliar hospital environments. The vision extends to helping people of all ages navigate healthcare through personalized storytelling.
The team has started discussions with the KU Leuven Institute for Rare Diseases (Leuven.IRD) to ground the product in clinical reality, and is recruiting early adopters among healthcare professionals, patient advocates, philanthropists, and investors. Notably, the promo video was AI-generated, with a donation made to an authors' rights organization to acknowledge generative AI's impact on creatives.
