Qwen-Image-2.1 native 2K generation doubles as an upscaler — no extra nodes needed
sktksm · reddit · 2026-09-21
A user shows how Qwen-Image-2.1's native 2K generation can serve as an upscaling/detail-enhancement pass with no upscaler nodes or LoRAs, releasing a full ComfyUI workflow.
Key points:
- Resolution is computed from a total-pixel budget (4.2 MP, ≈2048×2048) rather than a per-side cap: Math Expression nodes preserve aspect ratio, e.g. a 16:9 image lands near 2730×1536, close to the officially recommended 2752×1536;
- You can skip the expression nodes and enter width/height manually in Empty Latent Image;
- The prompt matters most: the bundled generic prompt works for most images; for grain/artifacts, a longer detailed enhancement prompt (included) improves portraits but may introduce more artifacts;
- Workflows available on Hugging Face and Civitai.
