AI slop rejected papers will be endlessly resubmitted, warns researcher on record submission volume

Responding to a proposal to cap how many times the same paper can be resubmitted across conferences ("stop reheating your NeurIPS 2023 reject nachos"), menhguin warns of a worse trajectory: alongside record submission volumes, most AI slop papers will be rejected and simply resubmitted to the next big conference — eventually making most paper volume a "slop cannon" resending the same few papers over and over.
