An accompanying guide explains the appeal via a kitchen metaphor: on Windows/macOS the AI lives in a "guest room", while Omarchy is a "workshop". Hardware requirements are minimal — a spare PC, 8GB RAM, an SSD, a USB stick, and Secure Boot disabled. Teknium retweeted it, noting every "I wish my computer could do this" moment becomes a little project.
