Qwen Image 2.1 tip: change the seed between consecutive edits or output breaks
Gremlation · reddit · 2026-09-21
Reddit user Gremlation shared a hands-on pitfall with Qwen Image 2.1 image editing: re-editing the output of a previous edit while keeping the same seed badly wrecks the result.
- The author usually pins seed=0 to compare parameter changes
- Using the bundled ComfyUI sample workflow, they generated an image (denim shirt, seed=0), then tried to edit it back to a green sweater without changing the seed — the output degraded badly
- Changing the seed to 1 and regenerating restored a good result
Takeaway: always change the seed between consecutive edits; it's an easy-to-miss detail in image-editing workflows.
