OpenClaw adds FaceTime: your agent can now call you, and answer your calls
steipete · x · 2026-09-21
OpenClaw shipped an experimental FaceTime plugin (disabled by default, coming in the next release) enabling two-way voice calls: you can call your agent, and the agent can call you with approval. A realtime voice provider handles speech while the agent handles tool and memory requests.
- Requirements: Apple Silicon Mac, macOS 14.4+, OpenClaw 2026.9.4+, full Xcode, FaceTime signed in
- Install: openclaw plugins install @openclaw/facetime plus a signed native companion via brew
- Permissions: only handles listed in ownerHandles can use it — no guest tier; all call participants must consent to audio processing
- The author calls it the longest he's worked on any OpenClaw feature, made possible by the latest models
