MIT Media Lab will host the ScienceClaw Hackathon on Oct 30–Nov 1, 2026, aimed at building an "internet of agents" through which scientific knowledge, tools, and capabilities can grow and be shared across teams and institutions. Teams will wire up AI agents, models, simulations, robots, cloud labs, and scientific tools into working systems for problems like protein design, robotics, and materials. The vision: AI as a real research collaborator that designs materials, builds instruments, runs experiments, and revises its reasoning as problems unfold.
