Humans, not rogue AI, remain the biggest cyber risk to energy systems

A Verge report argues that even before recent hacks stoked fears of rogue AI, energy systems were already disturbingly vulnerable to cyberattack — and the risk keeps growing. Joshua Corman of the Institute for Security and Technology put it: "We were always prey. We were just kind of surviving at the appetite of our predators," referencing DHS warnings about Iranian actors targeting US infrastructure. The core point: the biggest cybersecurity risk still comes from humans, not AI.
