Factory, an enterprise AI coding agent company, raised $200M at a $5B valuation—triple its $1.5B valuation from a $150M Series C just five months ago.
- Investors include Blackstone, Khosla Ventures, Sequoia, Insight Partners, NEA, and Clearlake, with angels like former F1 champion Nico Rosberg and Salesforce CEO Marc Benioff; Sequoia has backed all rounds since 2023.
- Founded in 2023 by CEO Matan Grinberg (born 1999, Berkeley physics PhD dropout) and CTO Eno Reyes (born 2000, ex-Microsoft/Hugging Face), who met at a SF hackathon, built a prototype in 72 hours, and landed a $1M seed via a cold email to Sequoia's Shaun Maguire.
- Its "Droids" agents target autonomous software production with a model-agnostic architecture (Claude, DeepSeek, etc.), reportedly used daily by hundreds of thousands of developers, with revenue doubling monthly over the past six months.
