MIT Media Lab is hosting the ScienceClaw Hackathon on October 30–November 1, 2026, focused on building an "internet of agents" for science.
- Teams will connect AI agents, models, simulations, robots, cloud labs, and scientific tools into working systems tackling problems in protein design, robotics, materials, manufacturing, and experimental science.
- The challenge emphasizes tested results, not just ideas: showing how agents can specialize, challenge each other's assumptions, learn from failed experiments, and combine expertise.
- The vision is an internet of agents where one agent's discovery becomes another's starting point and tools and capabilities flow across teams and institutions.
