"That list is dogshit": founder says first 100 users take 3 steps, not 94 launch sites
sahilypatel · x · 2026-09-20
Reacting to a viral list of 94 places to launch your startup (Product Hunt, Hacker News, Indie Hackers, etc. with DR scores), sahilypatel calls it "dogshit" and offers a minimal alternative: 1) pick 1-2 channels where your ICP hangs out and your team has expertise (Reddit, X, LinkedIn, SEO, etc.); 2) analyze what works in your niche there and create similar content; 3) do it consistently for 60-90 days. That's all you need for your first 100 users. He concedes such lists rack up bookmarks and likes, but "this ain't it."
